Black Hammock Band

Black Hammock Band

Rockabilly

The Black Hammock Band is an all originals band with four members -- Jon Howell (aka Skullhead) who writes most of the songs and is the lead singer on guitar, Brian 'Sly' MacMahon on bass guitar and vocals, John Nassif on harmonica and vocals, and Mark Rothermel (aka Squirrel) on percussion and vocals.

Together, their eclectic blend of musical influences create a unique sound with lyrics that tell great stories, rhythms that get you moving, rich harmonies that please the ear, and a blend of blues and rock 'n' roll to move your soul.

Music has always been a part of Jon Howell's life, and he knew playing the guitar was something he always wanted to do! He met John Nassif many years ago as members of the Swamp Possum Band, a bluegrass band. John is known for playing a mean harmonica and his skills bring him a lot of attention. This relationship eventually led them to create a duo known as 'Black Hammock'.

Mark and Sly have been in the music industry for many years, and both had known Jon Howell for decades. They all played in a band called 'Herassment', which was an 80's rock band. And it wasn't long before they eventually joined forces with Black Hammock to create what is now known as 'The Black Hammock Band'.

This band is continuously building a strong fan base due to the creative original songs being enjoyed by many. Their fans sing along to many of their tunes and are always asking for their favorites to be played. Keep an eye out for 'The Black Hammock Band' as they are becoming more and more popular with each music event.
